To mark 10 years of IWR’s existence, we are holding a photo competition to create a community-sourced collection of photos that convey Ithaca’s spirit of welcome. With this initiative, we celebrate the grounding of our mission in the place where it began and in the community that lives it. Anyone can take part!
The best 12 photos will be showcased in a 2026 IWR calendar to be launched later this year. Photos from the wider collection will feature in IWR digital and print communications, helping raise awareness in the community of issues affecting refugees and immigrants and our work to support them.
Find inspiration in a scenic public place, a community event, a storefront, sign, or public artwork promoting diversity, collaboration or sharing, or stage your own scene you’re your friends and anything you have on hand!
The competition panel will judge entries on how well they address the theme of Ithaca’s spirit of welcome, as well as aesthetic merit and creative perspective.
The deadline for entries is June 16.
